Artist’s Statement:

I’m a trained biologist/ecologist/botanist who is  inspired by the beauty of the natural world.  In my paintings I work to depict the beauty of the natural habitats with which I am most familiar, particularly coastal New England and the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, although I also have been inspired by the midwest grasslands (South Dakota and Wisconsin).  Most of my current work is in acrylic and oil, although I also paint in watercolor and pastel, and I create cards from photographs I make of my paintings.

I have taken lessons at DeCordova Museum and at the Falmouth Artists Guild, where I am a member and contributor to member shows.

These small paintings posted here represent some of the themes I love to depict in my painting: nature, music and the seashore.
